WELCOME

The American Cocker Spaniel Club of Canada as we know it today was formed in the early 1980's.

The Canadian Kennel Club made a motion to combine the three Cocker varieties into one breed.

Before this there were four varieties (including black & tan).

The club was formed to have a united voice in preparing the submission to CKC

in January 1985 regarding this issue.

Despite significant lobbying and letter writing from Cocker fanciers nationwide,

the change to combine the varieties was implemented.

The first National Specialty Show was held August 30th 1986.

Enjoy your visit.
