Since becoming recognized as the National Breed Club for American Cocker Spaniels in Canada by the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) on March 14, 1984 (see our "Club Info" page), the American Cocker Spaniel Club of Canada (ACSCC) has served this breed and is recognized as the central authority for the preservation and promotion of American Cocker Spaniels in Canada.  Our members and their families have dedicated decades to promoting, protecting and producing these active, versatile, beautiful dogs.

The ACSCC is comprised of nearly 70 individuals from across Canada that are passionate about the preservation of the heritage and the future of our beloved canine companions. ACSCC Member-Breeders are committed to producing quality, breed standard American Cocker Spaniels for performance, show and family pets.  ACSCC members are held to the highest standards and should be considered as trustworthy guardians of our breed.   Individuals wishing to add an American Cocker Spaniel to their home should verify that the breeder they are working with is a member in good standing of this Club.

Each year, our Club Members get together via Zoom meetings at least four times.  Our members are also connected through our newsletter, Canadian Cocker Connection which is published quarterly at the end of March, June, September and December.   We also share successes and connect through our members-only Facebook page.  

 

The ACSCC hosts a National Specialty Show annually (we strive to alternate the host region between western and eastern Canada as often as possible) as well as other Regional Conformation Specialty Shows and canine performance events throughout the year.  Our Club is qualified by the CKC to host Conformation Specialty Shows, Junior Handling, Obedience Trials, Rally Trials and Scent Detection Trials.  We are especially proud to offer our own Versatility Awards Program to our members which recognizes their impact to our breed and highlights the successes of their beloved American Cocker Spaniels.  We are always supportive and inclusive of Junior Handlers.
